Anthony Theodore Lane was born September 25th, 1935 to Samuel, "Sammy" Lane and Lela Kirk Lane near Hindsville AR.  Delivered by a midwife in a part log, part framed house, he was the first of eight children.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pansy Miller Lane who he married May 29, 1955. From this union came two children.  Michael Lane (Kathy) of Rogers, and Darlene Lane of Bentonville. He is also survived by sisters Betty Miller of Bentonville, Marlene Davis Elliott (Terry) of Rogers, Alta Montgomery of Little Flock, Dwayne Lane (Georgia) of Clifty, Arnold Lane (Barbara) of Arizona. Anthony and Pansy also have many nieces and nephews and friends they love and enjoy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Andy and Lotha Miller, brothers Ronnie and Wayne, and brother in-laws Kenneth Miller, John Montgomery, Bob Davis, Dorce Scruggs, sister-in-law Bonnie Scruggs, nephew Andy Davis, and step great grandson Kirkland Mann.

Anthony and Pansy helped raise their grandson Jacob Wiens (Skyler) of Pea Ridge. They have two step grandchildren, Matthew Rawlings of Rogers and Callie Mann of Rogers. They also have six great grandchildren. Juno Wiens of Pea Ridge, Maigan Moore of Australia, Mason Moore of Rogers, Morgan Moore of Rogers, Tanner Mann (Hailey, Kirklin) of Noel Mo. and Caden Mann (Sierra, Waylon) of Pea Ridge. Anthony was born during the depression era and knew the value of hard work. By the time he was thirteen or fourteen he did most of the work on the family farm while his dad worked to make a living for his family. He loved to squirrel hunt as a kid. Growing up he did many different things to help support the family such as cutting and hauling logs. His grandfather told him any task he set out to do, should be done to the best of his ability and that was how Anthony lived his life.  Later in life he would also work at a saw mill in Wyoming as well as working in Idaho to harvest potatoes and hauling milk. Tony as he was called by co-workers, started work at Wendt Sonis shortly after the company started. He worked there 40 years starting as a machine operator and advancing to the manager of the Insert Unit until he retired. Anthony was a quiet kind of guy, until you started talking to him about his friend Jesus. At six years old he set the goal of wanting to be a minister by giving a sermon to a field of cows. On March 14, 1972 at a revival at the Rogers Freewill Baptist church, he was saved and started his life of service for God.

He started his service by singing for God in a gospel group with friends and family. He answered the call to the ministry on 9-12-74 and in true Anthony style wasted no time and preached his first message 9-15.74. In his service for God, he pastored four churches. The Clifty FWB church, Pea Ridge FWB, Bentonville FWB, and Westside Baptist church. He also served the Old Mount Zion Association as the Youth Camp Board Chairman, a member of the Home Mission Board, and a member of the Executive Board.

-Preached at 51 churches

-Helped ordain 6 deacons and 6 ministers and 1 church

-Helped organize 2 churches

He retired from the ministry in 2021.

Anthony loved traveling with his family seeing all the beauty God created.  He also enjoyed working on family genealogy, even discovering his ancestor Tidence Lane was the first Baptist pastor in Tennessee. In Anthony's own words written some years ago, "These feet have not walked, nor these ears heard, nor these eyes seen a place where there are no more injustices, no death, no pain, no tears.  But one day thru the grace of God, I will, and my prayer is that all will come go with me to that place" Anthony is in that place!

Visitation is set for 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 3, 2024 at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge then the service will start at 11:00 A.M. after the visitation. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale at 1:30 P.M. Monday. Arrangements are with Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
