Obituary

Bert Wayne Armour, 88, of Pea Ridge, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024.

He was born March 4, 1936 in Bono, Arkansas to Ralph and Helen Hall Armour. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Larry Armour and Jerome Armour; and grandson: Caleb Michel.

Bert was a wise and gentle soul whose words and actions were always a testimony of his commitment to his Savior. He treasured the hope and comfort he received in reading God's word. He was a member of First Baptist Church Pea Ridge. In 1954, Bert graduated from Bono High Scool where he was a star basketball and baseball athlete. He was voted Most Popular, Best Boy Athlete, and Mr. Bono High School by his graduating class. Bert retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis after 33 years of employment. Bert came from a family of sportsmen, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and visiting with his family. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Razorback sports fan. He was especially looking forward to watching the Razorback men's basketball team this season.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda Jean Branson Armour, whom he married August 6, 1960 in Raymondville, MO; two daughters: Debbie (Tim) Michel of Wentzville, MO; and Carolyn Armour of Pea Ridge; four grandchildren: Andrew (Brittany) Fielder, Zachary Michel, Lydia (Tim) Wooldridge, Hannah Michel; one great-granddaughter, Tori Fielder; former son-in-law, Tim Fielder; and cousins Phil Roser, FayAnne Carter, Doug Carter, and Barb Spencer. Bert will be deeply missed. He was a loving and kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was easy to love and respect. Pallbearers are: Tim Michel, Zachary Michel, Andrew Fielder, Tim Fielder, Mike Davis, and Terry Riggle.

Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Service is set for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 3 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Trinity Cemetery in Bono, Arkansas

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church Pea Ridge
