Obituary

Betty Jean Weston was born July 21, 1944, and she left her worldly body June 6, 2025. She was 80 years young.

She married the love of her life, Erwin (Ted) Weston in 1960 and had 4 children and many grands and great grands. She had a deep love for her family, her church, Brightwater United Methodist, and her garden; not always in that order. She loved to sing and music made her happy. She led the church choir and she always looked forward to going to Jo's Come and Dine singing event every month she could. She was part of the United Methodist Women's group, served as a communion steward, and was deeply involved in every aspect of church life.

Our family's favorite was her annual reading of the children's book, "I'll love you forever," On Mother's Day.

She spent her summers RV camping and trout fishing. And buying flowers and sometimes planting them, growing her garden. She loved canning and sewing and making jelly and jam and often contributed her goods to the church's yearly bazaar. She lived her life to the fullest. She was the first woman employed by the AR Highway Department (ARDOT) and retired there after a successful career. She had many accomplishments there, least of which was ensuring that all the boys there knew how to shut the toilet seat lid. Betty never met a stranger. And if you knew her, you knew how she felt about you. But there was not a single soul she would not help.

Her deepest desire was to meet Jesus, as she stood up and proclaimed to the congregation on one Sunday: 'My soul is prepared to meet Jesus, but my body is not." She has now fulfilled that deep desire and is with our Lord. "Til we meet again, we love you"

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Weston; mother, Glenola DeVault; son-in-law, Carl Yates and siblings, Phyllis Williams, Sammy Williams and Stewart Williams. Survivors are her children, LeeAnn Yates of Garfield, Lisa Morrison (Kirby) of Rogers, John Weston of Garfield, Raymond Weston (Julie) of Pea Ridge; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
