Obituary

Bill Zane Schnitzer, 86, of Garfield, died Monday, November 16, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers.

He was born March 28, 1934 in Garfield to Theodore Schnitzer and Wilma Mae Schooley Schnitzer. He was a lifelong resident Garfield and married Lida Francis Ellis, December 17, 1954. He worked for his fathers filling station in Gateway, Arkansas, was the president of the Gateway Water Dept., helped start VAS ambulance service, was on the Gateway City Council for years and along with Clarence McKenzie made improvements to the Gateway City Park. He was a cattle farmer and later retired from Daisy Mang. in Rogers after thirty-three years. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife Lida of the home; a son, Billy and Becky Schnitzer Jr. of Garfield; a daughter, Pam Shaw and husband Mike of Garfield; six grandchildren, Andrea, Aaron, Joshua, Lacey, Heather, Melissa and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is set for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 19 at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield. No Visitation. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
