Carlton Shelby Yates, 71, of Garfield, died March 22, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers.

He was born December 13, 1946 in New Port, Arkansas to Shelby Waddle Yates and Margie Elsie Cook Yates. He was a farmer and loved fishing, karaoke, working on cars, tinkering, and working in the outdoors. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended Brightwater Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alvin Marshall.

Survivors are his wife, Lee Ann Yates of the home; three sons, Carl Yates of Moody, Alabama, Chancey Rucker and wife Jill of Garfield, Joshua Rucker of Garfield; a daughter, Sherry Yates of Pea Ridge; three brothers, Roy Yates and wife Brenda of Bentonville, Gene Yates and wife Liz of Alicia, Arkansas, Johnny Yates and wife Donna of Alicia, Ark.; three sisters, Lucille Adams and husband Russell of Centerton, Ark., Helen Hollis of Rogers, Gail Arnold of Pineville, Mo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Service is set for 12:00 p.m. Monday March 26 at Brightwater United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday before the service at the church.
