Craig Peterson, age 74, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas, surrounded by the love of his family.

Craig was born in Floydada, Texas, to Phell and Dorothy Peterson. He spent many years in West Texas and lived in Lubbock for a number of years, where he built a life centered around faith, family, music, and friendship.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Delma Peterson. Craig and Delma were married in Lubbock, Texas, on June 13, 1987, and shared nearly 39 wonderful years together. Craig is survived by his children: Joshua Craig Peterson and wife Melissa of Rogers, Arkansas; Jackie Patterson of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; and Valarie McLearen and husband Clifton of Lubbock, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Kayla and Paisley McLearen, Ava Bonner, and Brynn and Shelby Peterson. He is also survived by extended family members and many dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years. Craig was preceded in death by his parents Phell and Dorothy Peterson, and brother, Paul Peterson.

Craig graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas, in 1970. He received a full music scholarship to Baylor University, where he proudly played drums in the Baylor Band from 1970 to 1974. Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible Theology and graduated in 1974. Craig dedicated 47 years of his life to the insurance industry, serving clients and building lasting relationships throughout Texas, Florida, and Arkansas. In 2008, Craig and Delma moved to Northwest Arkansas, a place he quickly grew to love and proudly called home. Craig was a faithful member of Cross Church.

For the past five years, Craig courageously lived with ALS. Through every challenge, he continued to live each day to the fullest and often reminded those around him, "Whatever is God's will".

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the local ALS Association and to the many wonderful people they met through the ALS community. They are also deeply thankful for the compassionate care, love, and support provided by Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

A funeral service celebrating Craig's life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Petersburg, Texas. Burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Agape Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
