Dennis Dewayne Townsend 63, of Pea Ridge, died Thursday, May 17, at his home.

He was born December 29, 1954 at Bentonville to James Alfred Townsend and Wanda Mae Mattingly Townsend. He was a heavy equipment operator for APAC of Avoca for 42 years and LLL Gravel in Missouri. He married Nancy Mary Herron April 1980. He loved to fish, hunt deer and mushrooms and collect antiques. He was a Baptist and is preceded in death by his mother and a brother-in-law, Ron Whittle.

Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Nancy of the home; two sons, James "Jamie" Townsend (Sarah) of Pea Ridge, Sam Townsend of Pea Ridge; three daughters, Kattie Payne (Jacob) of Gravette, Angela Mecham-Smith (Cody) of McAlester, Oklahoma, Brittany Emery (Shane) of Lincoln; his father James Alfred Townsend of Bentonville; one sister Linda Kay Whittle of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers Buddy Townsend (Anita) of Gravette, and Tommy Townsend (Paula) of Bentonville; six grandchildren, Nelson and Devin Payne, Robert Smith, Oliver Anderson, Ava and Jaxson Townsend.

Service is set for 10:00a.m. Saturday, May 19 at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Visitation will be from 6-8:00p.m. Friday at the funeral home Burial will be at Pace Cemetery in Garfield.
