Edward "Ed" Loyd Banks, 87, of Washburn, Mo. died Friday, May 12 at Apple Blossom Retirement Community in Rogers.
He was born June 7, 1929 in Washburn, to Lott Gilbert Banks and Rilda Caroline Mahurin Banks. He married Geneva Pauline Henry August 12, 1953. He was a US Army veteran serving as a CPL in Germany. He operated a dairy farm in Washburn for many years, enjoyed fishing, rabbit and coon hunting, and loved his family. He attended the Church of Christ and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geneva Pauline Henry Banks; six brothers, Floyd Banks, Jay Banks, Denver Banks, Armon Banks, Bryce Banks, and Vernon Banks; six sisters, May Laughlin, Hazel Schrader, Edith Wade, Maggie Woodard, Oleta Woodard and Geneva Antle.
Survivors are two sons, Danny Banks (Linda) of Bentonville, Leonard Henry (Dottie) of Rogers; one daughter Reva Hayworth (Rick) of Washburn; his long- time friend Kathryn Smith of Washburn; six grand-children; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is set for 12:00-2:00p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with service following at 2:00p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Dent Cemetery with military honors. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net
