Edward Michael Freeman, 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died November 13, 2024 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

Mike was a lifelong newspaperman.  He began his career at the Decatur Daily in Decatur, Alabama before becoming Editor of The Montgomery Advertiser and Alabama Journal in Montgomery, Alabama.  He then became editor of the Selma Times Journal in Selma, Alabama before becoming Publisher of the Raton Range in Raton, New Mexico.  He fulfilled his lifelong dream when he purchased a small weekly newspaper in Pea Ridge, Arkansas, The Times of NE Benton County.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Williams Freeman; his children Michael, Jr (Yvonne) of Destin, FL; Patrick Freeman (Yvette) of Lancaster, PA; Andrea Mills (Rodney) of Montgomery, AL  Step children:  Rob Baugh (Kim) of Springdale, AR and Benjamin Baugh (Becky) Springdale, AR.; Marie Denise Knapp of Minneapolis, MN.; a niece Bethany Reynolds (Lanette) of Nashville, TN

Grandchildren:  Patrick Freeman, Jr of Front Royal, VA ; Timothy Freeman of Amarillo, TX;  Isabel Smith of Front Royal, VA ;  Daniel Freeman of Lancaster, PA;  Maria Gabriella of Lancaster, PA;  Juliana Freeman of Lancaster, PA;  Harrison Freeman of Birmingham, AL; Sidney Freeman of Destin, FL;  Anna Ralph of Auburn, AL; Claire Mills of Auburn, AL; Patton Baugh of Centerton, AR; Parker Baugh of Bentonville, AR; Porter Baugh of Bentonville, AR; Benjy Baugh of Dallas, TX; Baylor Baugh of Springdale, AR; Brodie and Bryant Baugh of Springdale, AR; Andrew Baugh of Peotone, IL; Laura Sakaoka of Kyoto, Japan; Sara Grace Oleniczak of Westmont, IL; Jessica Schurman of Peotone, IL; Margaret Baugh of Bella Vista, AR.; 14 great-grandchildren.
