Evelyn B. Miles, 85, of Garfield died November 6 at her home.

She was born April 5, 1931 in Houston, Texas to Leslie Gillis Brockman and Ruth Mae Parker Brockman. She married Gerald Miles September 4, 1949 and retired from the Houston School District before moving to area in 1983 to make her home. She enjoyed music, needle point, and crocheted many baby blankets for her church family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Garfield where she served as librarian and sang in the choir. She loved the Lord and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald Miles and a daughter, Linda Reifenrath.

Survivors are a son, David Miles and wife Jan of Lometa, Texas; a daughter, Ellen George of Garfield; two sisters, Patricia Sheffield and husband Carlton of Magnolia, Texas, Syble Zieglemeier and husband Harry of Big Fork, Montana; six grandchildren, Kassandra, Jason and Anna Lowery, Luke Gurganus, Trisha Renee George and Rachel Pedigo.

Service is set for 2:30 Tuesday November 8 at First Baptist Church in Garfield. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Ruddick Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church at 1:30 p.m. before the service.
