Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gavin Dwain Bivens on July 27, 2024, due to a tragic accident. Gavin was born on February 19, 2010, and from the moment he entered the world, he brought joy and light to everyone who knew him.

Gavin is survived by his loving mother, Amanda Bivens-Delossantos of Garfield, AR, and his father, Jay Dwain Bivens of Washburn, MO. He is also deeply mourned by his brother, Taylin Bivens, and sister, Makayla Bivens. His grandparents, Kerry and Gina Thompson, and Porfidio and Shani Delossantos, along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends, who will forever cherish his memory.

Gavin had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He cared deeply for his brother and sister, always looking out for them and ensuring they were happy and safe. He had a special bond with his friends, and his infectious smile and sense of humor made him a joy to be around. Known for his dedication and love of baseball, Gavin spent countless hours perfecting his skills and enjoying his teammates. Gavin's love for God was profound, and he never hesitated to share his faith with others. Saved three years ago, his spiritual journey was an important part of his life.

Gavin's love for his family was unparalleled. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was playing games, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other's company. He was a caring and compassionate young man who always put others before himself. His willingness to help others, whether it was a small act of kindness or a grand gesture, touched the lives of many. He loved riding dirt bikes with his brother and cousins, creating unforgettable memories filled with adventure and joy.

In school, Gavin was known for his enthusiasm and curiosity. His teachers and classmates admired his determination and positive attitude. Gavin's presence in the classroom was a source of joy.

Gavin's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us all to live life with the same passion, kindness, and love that he did. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will be felt for years to come.

Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Service is set for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Pea Ridge High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Garfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pea Ridge Youth Sports, c/o Korina Iglehart, P.O. Box 353 Pea Ridge, Arkansas 72751 or Venmo @pearidgeyouthbaseball-pearidge an organization that was dear to Gavin's heart.

Rest in peace, Gavin. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
