Gordon Tracey Ross, 88, of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord May 23, 2026.
He was born September 20, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Elwood Lee Ross and Margie Howe Ross. He was an accountant for Clark Industries in Springdale for many years and served in the US Army earning sharpshooter (rifle) and marksman (carbine) medals. He married Norma Ruth Grabski November 13, 1976 and enjoyed sudoku puzzles, mastering the Rubik Cube and camping at Silver Dollar City on family vacations. He also enjoyed taking care of his garden, his yard and his home. Gordon was a sports fan who loved to watch the Michigan Wolverines, Arkansas Razorbacks, Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers.
He was a family man and a Christian. Gordon was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Springdale and loved attending Tuesday Connections with his wife Norma and hearing about the Book of Revelations. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Lee and Margie Ross; two sons, William "Bill" Ross, Scott Ross and a sister, Glenda Standhart.
Survivors are his wife of forty-nine years, Norma Ross; children, Jeff Ross (Debbie) of Kerrville, Texas, Amy Johnson (Willis) of Alabama, Susan Gonyea (Rick) of Rockwall, Texas, Nancy Spivey (Jeff) of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Gordon Ross, Jr., Travis Nolan Ross (Melissa), Stephen Johnson, Elisabeth Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Tripp Gonyea, Scott Gonyea, Chase Duncan, Jadyn Spivey, Brady Spivey and Reed Spivey.
Visitation is set for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Temple Baptist Church, 2987 Cambridge Street, Springdale, Ark. 72764. Service will start at 11:00 A.M. after visitation. A private family burial will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church to be used where there is need.
