Obituary

Janice Rae Mattox, 82, of Garfield, Arkansas died May 6, 2025.

She was born March 6, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Harley Richard Simon and Mabel Louise Jordan Simon. Janice loved and was loved deeply by her family and friends. Her heart belonged to her soulmate and husband, Bill. He was the love of her life. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved horses, flowers, dogs camping and chocolate. She really loved chocolate! She loved adventures and had a life full of them. She was so creative and talented. Janice did ceramics, painting, needlepoint, scrapbooking and quilting. Blue was her favorite color. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Richard Simon.

Survivors are her husband of sixty-five years, Billy Mattox; two children, Billy Ray Mattox of Garfield and Brenda Kay Fields of Garfield; grandchildren, Marc, Harley and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Gene, Mya, Brooke and Samuel.

A celebration of Janice's Life will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with visitation to follow until 7:30p.m. Wear a little blue if you have some to celebrate her beautiful soul and life.

Burial will be in Ruddick Cemetery at a later date.
