Jerry Gilbert Sisco, age 85, passed away peacefully onThursday, March 20th at the Veteran's Home of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Jerry was born to his late parents, Gilbert Sisco and Virginia "Ted" Sisco (nee Grim), on April 15, 1939, in Fayetteville, but grew up in Berryville and later in Springdale.

A graduate of Springdale High School, Jerry would tell you he wasn't the best student, but he worked hard to learn the math and technical skills needed to become a flight engineer with the United States Air Force. Jerry proudly served his country for 22 years, aiding in military conflicts like the evacuation of Saigonand teaching other service members as an Instructor Flight Engineer. While stationed in Southeast Asia, Jerry was awarded The Air Medal for his outstanding airmanship while participating in sustained aerial flight as a combat crew member.

It was during his service, while stationed at a Thailand Air Base, that he met his wife of nearly 58 years. Jerry was instantly smitten with Potjana "Pat" Nusairum and, after months of pursuit, Pat agreed to go on a date where they fell in love over a slice of pizza. Together, the couple started a family, eventually relocating to Charleston AFB, South Carolina where Jerry honorably retired from the USAF with the rank of Master Sergeant.

After his military retirement, the family moved to Springdale, Arkansas, where Jerry and Pat built their family home and had numerous successful business adventures including an oriental market and several restaurants. Many Northwest Arkansas residents may fondly remember enjoying their favorite Thai dish at Silk Road Restaurant while discussing politics or craft beer with Jerry. When he was not working, Jerry could be found enjoying a game of free cell, fishing on Beaver Lake, or sittingin his recliner with his dog Jasper at his side. His grandchildren affectionately recall Jerry sharing stories of his youth while his favorite cartoons and westerns played in the background.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Mildred May Sisco (nee DeLozier), and daughter-in-law, Valeria Finogenova. He is survived in death by his wife Pat, sister Cynthia Byers Sisco, 3 children: Virginia (Greg), James, and Joe (Yami), 7 grandchildren: Lauren, Chelsey, Gabriell, Jason, Logan, Joeceline, and Ender, 7 great-grandchildren, countless cousins, countless customers, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas, with full military honors.
