Joe (as he was most well-known by) was born in Bridgeport, CT to Paride De Angelis, an immigrant from Italy, and Concetta DiDonato.  He grew up in Stratford, CT.  He joined the Air Force at the age of 18, but before he could be sworn in, the Army drafted him.  He spent 22 months in the Army, serving in Germany, before being honorably discharged. Upon discharge, he went to California, where he eventually became a General Contractor, building beautiful, affordable houses for the young enlisted at 29 Palms MCAGCC.

In 1981 he met and later married Lorelei Peske, then a Navy nurse serving at the clinic at 29 Palms.  Because of the economic situation of the country, they chose to follow her career, and moved to Millington, TN.  Several additional moves followed, taking them to Jacksonville, FL, where Lorelei retired from the Navy.  They then moved to Bagdad, FL, where they made a home base from which to travel in their 40 foot fifth wheel around the USA.

There they attended Faith Bible Church, Milton, FL where they heard the Gospel preached clear and straight, and where they both trusted the Lord as their personal Savior. Joe attended Faith Bible Theological Seminary, Milton, FL graduating with a Bachelor of Religious Education, June 1994.  He received a Certificate of License in Gospel Ministry from International Baptist Church in Milton, FL in December 1995.

Thus began their ministry on the road to small churches in the Western US, and to American Indians of various tribes in the West. We moved from Florida, to Arroyo City, TX then up to Buffalo Gap, TX, where we lived for many years.  Here we were very active in our hobbies – woodworking, building furniture and other things out of the Texas Mesquite.  When that got too much for us, we shifted our focus and became photographers.  Traveling to Victoria, BC, and other places to photograph the beauty of God's creation.  We printed and framed our work and would sell them at local craft fairs.   In January 2011 we moved to Bella Vista, AR.  Here we got into doing fused glass art, which we sold at craft fairs. In 2012 we took a 5 week trip to Brazil to assist a missionary family there.

Joe has been a Chaplain with Sheep Dog Impact Assistance.  While they wintered in South Texas in the Rio Grande Valley he and Lorelei served as Chaplains with Christian Resort Ministries International, where they ministered and he preached in the RV parks in the RGV. The summer of 2015 found them working at Camp Living Waters, Fairbanks, AK, where he also had the privilege to be the speaker one week.  Six weeks were spent there assisting in the ongoing daily works of the camp, until a fall cut the time short, forcing a    return to the lower 48 for medical attention. In 2015, while working down in the RGV, He was ordained to Gospel Ministry, at Grace Community Church, Pharr, TX, something he had always desired. In 2021 we moved from Bella Vista   to Pea Ridge, AR to our present home, from which we continue to minister as God leads. We have taught Sunday School classes; preached; done jail visitation and ministry; hospital visitation; shut-in visitation; nursing home visitation; been hospice volunteers; camp workers; taught Vacation Bible Schools; taught AWANAs; done  door-to-door evangelism; and private home visitation. We are Grief Share trained leaders, and have been doing a Grief Share grief support ministry for over the last 6 years. We mentor whoever God puts in our path to mentor—old or young. We will do, have done, and will continue to do whatever the Lord gives us/leads us to do.  We are definitely born-again believers who believe in Salvation by GRACE (Ephesians 2:8-9).As Joe entered these last years of his life, though his physical condition continued to worsen, and he was always in pain, he strove every day to impart the knowledge that God had given him, to whoever was willing to listen and learn. He realized that God had given him much to pass on. He spoke love into everyone.   He took seriously the Bible mandate of the elder teaching the younger.  He had a great urgency about him that everyone would come to know the Lord and have the blessing of eternal life as he did.  He knew that when he breathed his last his knowledge would be lost forever, taking it with him to glory.

This year he had the privilege to marry 3 young couples, who we have mentored over the years.  He was so honored that they entrusted him with such an honor in his old age. Joe may not physically be with us any longer, as he has graduated to Heaven, and now is and forever will be, in the presence of the Lord.  We cannot be sad.  He is more alive now, than ever.  He is free—free of the pain that racked his mortal body, free from the bent over position that his body had assumed.  Free from the cares of this world.  No more sorrow, no more pain. FREE!!  We who know Jesus as our Savior are assured we will see him again.
