Obituary

Kathleen Victoria Nile, 75, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, died September 10, 2026.

Kathleen was born February 12, 1951, in Zero, Montana, to Howard W. Watts and Della Mae Wakefield. She devoted nearly twenty years to serving students as a special education teacher with Bentonville Public Schools. Her care for others also extended beyond the classroom: she provided in-home care for older adults and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening, tending to the animals on her farm, and spending time with her family. Kathleen was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Laufer; and her sister, Michelle McCool.

Kathleen is survived by her children, William H. Browning of Pea Ridge, Jasmine Nile (Scott Mitchell) of Fayetteville and; her stepchildren, Gregg Laufer (Kara) of Naples, Florida, and Drew Anderson (Jim) of Durango, Colorado; her siblings, Clifford Watts of Hindsville, Linda Griebel of Lowell, Edith Hook of Pea Ridge, Russell Watts of the Philippines, and Becky Smithee of Rogers; her grandchildren, John, Piper, and Daniel; and her step-grandchildren, Avan, Coen, and Maddie.

A visitation service will be held from 1:30pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, September 19 at Sisco Funeral home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Fayetteville National Cemetery at 11:30 A.M. Monday, September 21, 2026. A church service will be he held following burial at 4:30 p.m. September 21 at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers.
