In Loving Memory of My Beloved Husband, Daniel Hugh McCready.
Daniel Hugh McCready, 75, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas died January 16, 2025.
He was born April 14, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to William Henry McCready and Marina Di Mauro McCready. He was a decorated Lieutenant Commander with the US Navy and was awarded two bronze stars, Battle "E" Ribbon, sea service deployment w/bronze star among others. He retired from service in in 1994 after twenty-six years of service then worked nineteen years with Wal-Mart Corporate Security. He is preceded in death by his parents.
With a heart full of love and deep sorrow, I share the passing of my dear husband, Daniel Hugh McCready, who left this world on January 16, 2025, at the age of 75. We shared 30 beautiful years together – years filled with laughter, joy, challenges, and an unwavering bond that only grew stronger with time. From the moment we met, I knew he was the one. He was my partner, my confidant, my best friend. His love was a constant, his presence a comfort, and his care for me, our children, and our family was boundless. We built a life together that was rich with memories, adventures, and shared dreams – memories that I will forever hold close in my heart.
Danny was a man of integrity, humor, and heart. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was through his military career, his Walmart career, his life adventures, or simply sharing quiet moments together, or sharing a quiet moment together, Danny always bought light to those around him. His infectious laugh, his kindness, and his selflessness were just a few of the things I loved most about him. Though words cannot fully express the depth of my love for him, I take comfort in knowing that we shared a lifetime of happiness together. I will miss him every single day, and I find peace in knowing that he is now resting, and his spirit will remain with me, our children, and everyone whose life he touched.
In addition to me, his wife, Sherri L Lyons, Danny leaves behind his children, Leigh Ann Daley and husband Joe of Gainesville, Florida, David McCready and wife Aileen of Raleigh, North Carolina, Christina Wilson of Dallas, Texas, Vernon Mason III and wife Madison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Patricia Roper and husband Ben of College Station, Texas and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January, 23, 2025 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with Navy Honors. A visitation and remembrance will follow for his family and friends.
