Marie Louise Reynolds, was born in 1927 to Milo and Edith Payne in Eureka Springs Arkansas, the middle child of three with an older sister, Bonnie (Thompson) and younger brother, Bobby. Educated thru a one room schoolhouse and, as an overachiever she moved ahead to the next higher class. Along with helping out on the family farm, she worked her first real job at the Berryville Bank.

During that same time, she met the love of her life, Amos Reynolds "Jr".  They married on June 4, 1950 in the home of her parents. They had three boys, but their first one was stillborn, Roger Kent. After that, Larry Craig came along on February 19, 1953. Not having a good experience with the Wichita doctor, she decided to have her third son in Arkansas with her old doctor. So they loaded up the family- Louise, Amos, Granny, Grandad and Craig- and headed to Arkansas. After dropping them off, Amos drove back to Wichita to work at Beechcraft. And then on May 2, 1954 Daryl Chris was born. Almost a week later Amos drove back down, loaded them all up and traveled back to Wichita together.

They lived in Wichita for over 40 years. Amos retired from Beech aircraft and Louise retired from Cessna aircraft. Then they moved back to Arkansas on Beaver Lake to enjoy their retirement.

During their time in retirement, they did numerous winter getaways to South Texas, they made lots of friends. They helped build and did volunteer work at the Whitney Mountain Chapel. Amos loved to fish and Louise loved cooking and baking.  They helped care for Amos's sisters until they both passed away.

As Amos's health started declining, they decided to move back to Kansas to be near family. They bought a house in Derby, but in about a year Amos had to go to a care home and then passed away in April 2016.

Louise lived by herself as long as she could, but also went to a care home. While there, nearly 2 1/2 years, she met a lot of people, read a lot of books, worked a lot of puzzles and played a lot of bingo.

She lived a very full life and will be missed dearly.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield, Arkansas.
