Peggy Sue (Conner) Shank, a Little Rock, AR native, born on April 30, 1940, in Marianna, AR departed this world peacefully at the age of 84 on January 2, 2025, in Blue Ridge, TX surrounded by her family. She was the cherished daughter of Benjamin Dalton Conner and Mona Veachel (Vann) Conner.
Peggy genuinely believed it was more blessed to give than receive. As Peggy had no children of her own, she loved to help her nieces and nephews. Peggy enjoyed dancing, playing cards with her niece and enjoyed spending time with her family. Peggy will be remembered by all who knew her for her unwavering generosity, kindness, and compassion. Her warm spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on her family and friends.
Peggy attended the Arkansas School for the Blind, where she cultivated a strong sense of determination that would guide her throughout her life. She later worked as a vendor at the Arkansas State Capitol, dedicating herself to her work until her well-earned retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dalton and Veachel Conner. Her brothers and sisters: Learline Johnson, George Conner, Benjamin (Bennie) Conner, Noel Conner, Dana Boehm, and Donald (Glenn) Conner. Peggy is survived by nine nieces, five nephews, many great-nieces/nephews, and great-great-nieces/nephews.
Private funeral services are under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge, AR. Visitation will be held at 11 am followed by a chapel service at 1 pm on Monday, Jan 13. Officiated by Chad Race of FBC church. Graveside service will follow the chapel service at Pea Ridge cemetery if weather permits.
A meal will be provided for the family and close friends of Peggy Shank at the Pea Ridge Public Library community room following graveside services.
