Shirley Ann (Williams) Dean, age 82, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Mo.

She was born November 26, 1942, in Washburn, Mo., the daughter of Roland Earl Williams and Gladys E. (Gardner) Williams. On July 17, 1959, she gave birth to a son, Richard (Rick) Lee Hendrix, in her home in Washburn, Mo.   He was the light of her life!

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Rick and his wife, Lisa… her two grandchildren, Josh Hendrix and his wife Brandy, and Kelly Sweeney and her husband, Josh…. her seven great grandchildren – 6 girls and 1 boy -  Jordyn, Ryder, Molly, Paisley, Avery, Whitley, & Chloe, all of whom she loved with all her heart. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers:  Leon (and sister-n-law, Dee Williams), Carl, Bill, Jim, & Johnny.

Surviving siblings are one younger brother, Jack Williams and his wife Alma, and two younger sisters, Linda Pippin, and Julie Hutchison and her husband Hutch.  Sister-n-laws, Mary Williams, & Nancy Williams.  Also, a very special sister in law, Jan Williams, who was more like a sister to her, who helped care for her, visiting with her constantly over the last several years, driving her to doctor's appointments, encouraging her to get out of the house even when she didn't really want to, and to Jan, we are eternally grateful.  Also, too many nieces and nephews to count!   Shirley loved her family dearly and was proud of each and every one of them.

Shirley was a talented seamstress and made clothes for her son in his younger years as well as her grandchildren.  She was an avid reader and would always read way up into the night.    She was a factory worker and retired from Emerson Electric sometime in the 90's. She was somewhat of a loner, but always welcomed company into her home.  She rarely visited others at their home though because she never wanted to be a bother to them if they were busy.

In 1980, she moved in with her mother and they shared a home for many years.   She took great care of her mother for several years until her mother's death in 2015. Shirley will be greatly missed by so many, but we take great comfort in knowing that she was ready to meet her Lord and is no longer suffering the physical ailments of this life.

Goodnight Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt Shirley.   Rest in peace.  We will miss you but look forward to seeing you on the other side.

Visitation is set for 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Graveside services are set for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Dent Cemetery with Rick Hendrix officiating.
