Shirley Ann
Harris
Feb 9, 1945 — Sep 11, 2020
Shirley Ann Harris, age 75, was welcomed into this world by her parents John T. & Gladys Ogden Pomoransky on February 9, 1945 and peacefully departed her earthly life on September 11, 2020.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Farl Hutton, and her maternal grandparents, Pleas & Ida Ogden as well as her paternal grandparents, Michael & Francis Patykewich Pomoransky.
After graduation from Fayetteville High School, she began working at WRMC as a nurse's aide on the surgical orthopedic floor. She was transferred to Central Supply Services where she was a supervisor for 6 years and an instrument technician in 1980. Shirley received a letter of commendation and a special gift from the WRMC Board of Governors and Administration for her years of service. She retired from WRMC in 1981 after 20 years of service.
Shirley and her husband Roger became EMT's and operated the Pea Ridge Ambulance Service for several years. She loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and playing on the hamm radio. The most exciting 4 minutes of her life was when she contacted the Russian MIR Space Station through her hamm radio and home computer.
Most important of all was her love and devotion to GOD, where she was a member of the Pea Ridge Baptist Church.
Shirley was a blessing to all who knew her and she leaves her beautiful legacy with her husband of 45 years, Roger Harris of Pea Ridge, her sister Sharon Peoples (Ken) of Lowell, her brothers John Pomoransky (Susan) of Fayetteville & Harold Hutton (Jan) of Van Buren.
Shirley had no children of her own, but showed her continuous love and devotion through her nieces, Malia Stratton (CJ) of Bentonville, Lisa Allan (Brian) of Elkins, Laura Walden (Kevin) of Kingston, and Kim Craig, Markita Den-Herder, Amber Podvin, Dana Paech, Tammy Blakemore, Debbie Harris, Sherry Stephens, & Jamie Myer. Nephews she adored; Bryan Peoples (Ashley) of Cave Springs, Jacob Hutton of Van Buren, and Eddie Rush. Her beautiful memories lie in the eyes of her great nieces and nephews.
Shirley will truly be missed and those who knew her will miss her loving & caring devotion that she gave to others.
