Shirley Ann Sealy (Babb) 88, of Garfield, AR passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Shirley was born on March 23, 1936 in Corinth, MS to Brodie and Patie Babb. She grew up in Memphis, TN, with her parents and 3 older sisters. Shirley attended Humes High School, where she graduated in 1955.
She married William P. Sealy on February 14, 1959 and together they shared 44 years of love and companionship prior to Bill's passing in 2003. Bill and Shirley had 2 children, Deffia & Bill Jr., who they adored. Shirley was Nana to her 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Erik, and Nikki, who she cherished. After the loss of her husband, Shirley became a great grandmother to 5 amazing great grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
Shirley was very artistic, and loved painting, sewing, cross stitching, and all other arts and crafts. She kept her 3 grandchildren every summer, along with her husband Bill, and provided them with the most magical childhood on Beaver Lake (Paradise). Shirley was a great cook and known for her large country breakfasts. She loved the many dogs she had in her life, and cherished her cat, Pooh prior to her death. After having attended high school with Elvis Presley prior to his fame, she became Elvis's number 1 fan.
She is survived by her children, Deffia Schoos (Steve) of Orting, WA, William P. Sealy Jr. of Garfield, AR, her grandchildren Ryan Shaw (Kristi) of Sugarland, TX, Erik Shaw (Stephin) of Dupont, WA, Nicole Petersen (Nick) of Centerton, AR, her 5 great-grandchildren, Brody, Peyton, Beckett, Anela, and Piper. Shirley is also survived by her sister Emily Gorski of Rogers, AR, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Sealy, and sisters Olene Ross and Faye Gaines.
No service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Circle of Life Hospice.
Shirley was the most amazing Mother, Sister, Wife, Nana, OG Nana, Aunt, & Friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
