Virginia Joyce Whitney, 78, of Gravette died July 12, 2018 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was born August 12, 1939 in Redrock, Arkansas to Wilburn Eugene Shatswell and Dorothy Smith Shatswell. She married Glenn Whitney March 1, 1969 and moved to the area in 1971 to make her home. She worked as a line supervisor for Tyson Foods in Rogers for twenty-five years. She enjoyed gardening, being with her grandchildren and attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Bentonville. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Glenn Whitney of the home; two sons, Robert Whitney (Gail) of Garfield, David Whitney (Shelly) of Elkins; three daughters, Joanna Carden (Jerry) of Jacket, Missouri, Barbara Henson (Cecil) of Pineville, Missouri, Denice Whitney of Centerton; three sisters, Anna Bell Gurney of Grandview, Missouri, Diania Pettit of Desota, Kansas, Myrtle Briggs of Talequeh, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is set for 10:00 A.M. Friday July 20 at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.
