William Dirk Pearce went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 4:15 am.

Dirk was born in Lubbock, TX, on the Sunday of March 16, 1958. He celebrated his first birthday on the ship while traveling to Kenya, East Africa, with his parents William Boyd and Sydney Brewer Pearce. His parents were appointed with Foreign Mission Board in 1958. While living in East Africa Dirk attended Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya during the years of 1969-1973.

From 1973-1976 William Dirk Pearce resided in locations of Shallowater, TX and Aurora, CO while his father pastored churches in the States. While Dirk resided in the States, he attended college at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX. In 1980 he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education.

On the Monday of December 21, 1980 he married Libby Dee Tullos, and they were happily married for a total of 44 years. In 1985 Dirk graduated with honors at SW seminary with a Masters of Arts in Religious Education. After graduating from seminary Dirk served as a case worker at Arkansas Baptist Children's Home in Monticello, Arkansas.

In 1987 Dirk and Libby were appointed as IMB missionaries to Bignona, Senegal in West Africa.

Dirk then became the director of a community center, in Bignona, Senegal, West Africa. There he started a Kindergarten and the first public library in Bignona, Senegal. He started churches and mentored young pastors so that they could to lead and share the gospel in the Casamance area. After resigning from the IMB, Dirk was appointed with NAMB as a Church Planter Strategists in Cleveland, Ohio working with local pastors. William Dirk Pearce and his wife Libby Pearce started a family giving birth to five children in the years of 1989-2000. While raising his children with Libby Pearce, Dirk strived to ensure their children grew up with a strong foundation in the word of God.

William Dirk Pearce was preceeded in death by his father, William Boyd Pearce.

Dirk is survived by: his wife, Libby Dee Pearce; his children of two daughters and three sons with their spouses, William Garret and Charlotte Pearce, Terah Revee and Joshua Pooler, Ethan Alec Pearce, Zachary Skylar Pearce, and Mckenzie Taylor Pearce; three Grandchildren, Caleb, Dawson, and Marcelenne Pearce; his mother, Sydney Brewer Pearce; one sister, Sheri Harris; one brother, Randal Pearce.

MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE THAT IS YET TO BE DETERMINED.
